Robert “Bob” P. Barnes of Waukesha and Painesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. He was born in Clarksburg, WV on November 27, 1935 the son of Denzil and Virginia (nee Carson) Barnes. He was a 1953 graduate of Victory High School in Clarksburg, WV and went on to receive his degree from Penn Tech Institute. On May 26, 1956, he married the love of his life, June Dever and they eventually settled in Ohio. He was a longtime employee of Rockwell Automation-Allen Bradley, which brought them to Wisconsin. Bob and June lived in Waukesha for 23 years before moving to Painesville, OH in 2005 where they lived until their recent return to the Waukesha area. Bob was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Waukesha and First Baptist Church of Painesville. He enjoyed singing in the church choir and served as a trustee. He loved golfing and even had a hole-in-one, but most of all he loved being with his family.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 61 years, June, his son Thomas (Elizabeth) Barnes of East Troy, WI his daughter Byschelle Jesberger of Highland Heights, OH and his grandchildren, Colin, Julia and Samuel Barnes, Claire and Adam Jesberger, Colleen McVey and Ari Everts. He is further survived by his sisters, Ramona (the late Stanley) McIntyre, Carol (Gary) Martin, and Sondra (Howard) Dodd along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Juanita “Becky” (Jack) Godfrey and Patty (Bill) Walsh.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the 12:00 noon funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Burial with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Bob would want you to do a good deed or donate to the charity of your choice.
