Robert "Bob" M. Edwards

Robert “Bob” M. Edwards a lifelong Waukesha resident passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 91. He was born in Delafield on August 17, 1928 the son of Walter and Alta (nee Woods) Edwards. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1951 until 1953. On June 5, 1948 he married his beloved wife, Betty Turkoski at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church; she preceded him in death on February 7, 2018 and he dearly missed her. Together they were members of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church and then Mount Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church for many years. At Mount Calvary they started the Pioneers Program. Bob was a Pioneer leader for many years. He was also very active in many other church activities including the church choir and teaching Sunday School. He was currently a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church. Bob worked as a welder for Archie Ladwig and was a City of Waukesha police officer for 24 years until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a jack of all trades, often found tinkering and woodworking in his backroom. Bob also enjoyed traveling with his wife Betty and being with his family.

He will be sadly missed by his three loving children, Robert (Gail) Edwards of Phillips, WI, Penny (Robert) Talley of Colorado Springs, CO and Susan (Duane) Dankert of Waukesha, his six cherished grandchildren, Rebecca (Steve) Konen, Sarah (Mike) Nystrom, Sally Kopecky, Jeremy (Kelly) Edwards, Christopher (Kathryn Fischer) Dankert and Danielle Dankert and seven great-grandchildren, Ryan, Aralynn, Emily, Garrett, Eric, Talayla and Casey. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his beloved wife Betty, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Iva Myhill, Charles Edwards, Floyd Edwards and Ellen Weed.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the 11:30 a.m. funeral service at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 700 Beechwood Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Pastor Jason C. Hacker will preside. Private burial with full military honors will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield. Memorials in Robert’s name are appreciated to Grace Ev.
