Robert “Bob” W. Greenwaldt, a longtime Waukesha resident, died on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at his home at Avalon Square at the age of 91. He was born in Milwaukee on July 19, 1925 the son of Harry and Hildegarth (nee Schwenzen) Greenwaldt. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. On June 5, 1948 he married Lois Dornbrak at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church where they were lifelong members. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2014. Bob owned his own home construction company, Greenwaldt Builders for many years. Bob was a talented woodworker and carpenter. He enjoyed square dancing, loved the outdoors and visiting the cottage he built in Eagle River. Most of all he cherished the time he spent with his family.
He will be sadly missed by his children Jim (Debra) Greenwaldt of Dousman, Tom (Debbie) Greenwaldt of Waukesha, Pat (Al) Grulke of Waukesha and Anne (Paul Rullo) Van Housen of Villages, FL. He was the dear grandfather of Ryan (Shannon) Manske, Tim (Stacey) Greenwaldt, Katie (Brad) Kuntz, Mike and Mitch Grulke, Daniel (Kristen) Van Housen and David and Elizabeth Van Housen along with six great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister Elaine Ward of Texas along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 10:00AM until the time of the 12:00 Noon memorial service at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 700 Beechwood Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Rev. Jason Hacker will preside. Burial with full military honors will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials in Bob’s name are appreciated to Grace Ev. Lutheran Church.
