Robert "Bob" Kascht M.D.

87, of the town of Waukesha, died Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.  He was born on June 10, 1921 in Waterloo, Iowa to Lawrence and Esther (nee:  Rubert) Kascht.  On September 22, 1951 he married Mary Ann Remmel in Milwaukee.  He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa in English and then went on to Northwestern University Medical School.  He served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force.  Bob enjoyed his hobby farm, which was purchased in 1962 in Elkhart Lake.  He has been a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church since 1977 and had been a school board and parish council member at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Bob had served as chairman of the Archbishop’s Appeal for 1 year, served on the Waukesha Symphony Board of Directors and was a member of the Friends of Retzer Nature Center.  As Chief of Pathology at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, he established the School of Medical Technology program.   Bob was an exceptionally charitable man who contributed his time and money to numerous causes.  He had an uncommon love of chocolate and desserts.  He enjoyed reading and writing, and in 2008 published a memoir “Good Genes, Luck, and Lots of Prayers”.    He will be greatly missed by his wife Mary Ann of Waukesha, along with their children Larry (Jackie) Kascht of Waukesha, Steve (Tena) Kascht of Centennial, CO, Dr. Mary Beth, (Mike) Charland of Woodbury, MN and John (Dolores Motichka) of Honesdale, PA.  Bob had 5 grandchildren:  Jennifer, Joe (fiancée Christina Dockendorf), Erin, Laurel and Heather.  He is further survived by his brother Richard (Marian) Kascht of Stockton, CA, and other relatives and friends.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31 from 4:00 pm until the 8:00 pm Rosary Service at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha.  Services continue at the funeral home on Monday, June 1 with prayers beginning at 9:15 am followed by the procession to St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2400 W.
