Robert “Bob” C. Matson, of Waukesha, died on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Froedtert Hospital at the age of 73. He was born in Ludington, MI on August 30, 1941 the son of Robert and Edith (nee Clark) Matson. He was a 1959 graduate of Ludington High School and then proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1959 until 1962. He went on to graduate from the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in 1966 and worked as a mechanical engineer for Industrial Clutch retiring in 1997. Bob enjoyed his retirement home in Eagle River but most of all he loved being with his family. He was a longtime member of St. William Catholic Church.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Catherine (nee Pfeffer) Matson of Waukesha and their children, John (Michelle) Matson of Mukwonago, Peter (Suzette) Matson of Waukesha, Sarah Matson of Waukesha and Christine Tomes of Waukesha. He was the proud Grandfather of Tyler, Jake, Alexa, Emily and Elise Matson and Zander and Abigail Tomes. He is further survived by his sisters, Marjorie (the late Thomas) Holmes of Ludington, MI, Barbara (James) Husted of South Carolina and Linda (Doug) Christiansen of Cedar Springs, MI along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 10:00AM until the time of the 12:00 Noon Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Avenue, Waukesha. Father Howard Haase will preside. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Children’s Hospital Foundation Matson Family Fund, MS 3050, P.O. Box 1997, Milwaukee, WI 53201-1997 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
