Robert "Bob" Schmitt

Robert E. “Bob” Schmitt, of Waukesha, died on Friday, November 27, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 68.  He was born in Carroll, Iowa on June 27, 1941 the son of Paul and Agnes Ann (nee Reiff) Schmitt.  He served in the United States Army from 1963 until 1965.  On October 15, 1966 he married Arlene Parkins at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pewaukee.  Bob worked for many years as a plumber. He was a member of the Plumbers Union #75, a charter member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, a member of the VFW Post #721, a member of 5 O’clock Cronies Coffee Club at McDonald’s on West Avenue and of the Masonic Lodge.  He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 43 years, Arlene and their children: Paul (Nicole) Schmitt of Brookfield, Karen (Randy) Polakowski of Appleton, Mark (Beth) Schmitt of Waukesha, Mike (Kelly) Schmitt of Waukesha, and Matthew (Victoria Henschel) Schmitt of Waukesha.  He was the dear grandfather of seven grandchildren: Michael, Rachel, Hannah, Jacob, Ray, Tyler, and Amelie.  He is further survived by his brother Richard (Barbara) Schmitt of New Jersey, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2400 W. State Hwy 59, Waukesha from 12:00 Noon until the 3:00PM funeral Mass.  Father James Loehr will preside.  Military Honors will follow the funeral Mass at church.  A private family burial will he held at Calvary Cemetery in Wautoma.  If desired, memorials are appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  For further information, please call Randle-Dable Funeral, Cremation and Preplanning Services at (262) 547-4035, or go to www.waukeshafunerals.com for directions or to leave an on-line tribute.
