Robert “Bob” M. Weier of Waukesha passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017 at the age of 68 years. He was born on December 20, 1948, in Waukesha, the son of Richard and Marian (nee Christensen) Weier. Bob was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and served in combat for 21 months in Phu Loi, Vietnam. He received an early out from the army after serving two voluntary extended tours in Vietnam.
He worked for over 37 years at RTE and Cooper Industries where he received two patents for transformer design. Bob was an avid golfer, fisherman and pool player.
Bob will be sadly missed by many friends, coworkers, relatives, and especially his dearest friend Martha “Marti” Staszak.
Bob is survived by his sister Judith (Dr. Harvey) Goodman of Tucson, AZ, his sons Michael (wife Jackie) and Alan, several grandchildren and his best-friend cousin Kevin (wife Karen) Christensen. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob wanted to thank the wonderful medical and support staff at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center. They are truly angels on the earth. A special thank you is also extended to Vitas Hospice at the Lutheran Home for the loving care provided to Bob and his family.
The visitation for Robert will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue Waukesha. The burial with full military honors will take place immediately following the service at Prairie Home Cemetery.
