Robert Dickten

born Robert Anderson, died March 6, 2009 at his home at the age of 68 from complications of a stroke he suffered early in October.  He was born on December 29, 1940 in Chicago, IL.  He was a graduate of Marquette High School.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army where he worked in Intelligence.  He will be remembered for his many inventions.  The most prominent was his chemical formula for cleaning up ocean oil spills.  As a worldwide traveler and language expert, Robert lived many years in Germany, China and Mexico.  In each country he had successful businesses in the tool and die industry, the export field and investments.  He loved frequent trips to Chicago’s Chinatown and Illinois dowsers’ groups.  He will be truly missed for his highly developed sense of humor and common touch with all people.  Robert was a certified scuba diver, sail boat enthusiast and enjoyed martial arts.  His interest in Eastern religions and his unpublished manuscripts occupied his time the past few years.  He will be missed by his closest friends, Hazel Nelson, Haakon Nelson, Madison Nelson, Benny Nelson, Mark Pass, Paul Kajtna, Barry Nelson, lunch buddy Frank Nelson and German shephard Ralph.  He was preceded in death by his father, mother, step-father and sister.
