Robert W. Krause, aged 98, passed away peacefully at The Lutheran Home on October 2, 2024. He was born in Whitewater on May 5, 1926, to parents Ferdinand and Nellie (nee: Skinner) Krause. On September 2, 1949, he married the former Carol Steinbach in Madison. He was a 1944 graduate of Waukesha High School and after graduation he joined the Army Air Corps serving as a cryptographer in Alaska during World War II. Returning from the war he enrolled at the University of Wisconsin Madison, graduating in 1950 with a bachelor’s degree in math and physics. He was the owner of Krause Realty and Appraisals. He was past president of the Waukesha County Board of Realtors, former member of Waukesha Kiwanis Club, Wisconsin Tennis Association, Brook Club and the Experimental Aircraft Association. He especially enjoyed his family gatherings that usually ended with a three-generation tennis match.
Survived by his loving wife of 75 years Carol and their children Kathleen (Al Oglesby) Krause, Karla (Jesse) Sterner, and Gary (fiancée Sandy) Krause. He is also survived by his grandchildren Brent, Kellie, Clayton, Chad, and Jake, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ferd and Nellie Krause, his brother Ken Krause, sister-in-law Evie, and grandsons Phill and Taylor.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church 121 Wisconsin Avenue Waukesha WI 53186. Memorials are appreciated to the church.
