Robert E. Skebba

Robert “Bob” Eugene Skebba passed away at home on February 5, 2025 at the age of 73. He was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin on September 14, 1951, son of Ralph and Annette Skebba. Bob graduated from Pewaukee High School in 1969.

After graduation, he pursued a career in auto mechanics and took a job at Hornburg’s in Hartland, Wisconsin. There he met Nancy Kinney, who worked in the office. Once he met Nancy, no one else would do. She was the only one for him they married on May 19, 1972. They were married for 52 years.

Bob worked in auto mechanics for a while, then went on to auto parts sales and engine overhaul and rebuilding. Bob was very handy with tools and repairs and was always fixing things around the house or making home improvements. He had learned many useful skills from his father, Ralph, who was a bricklayer and his grandpa, Knud Klemesrud, who was an auto mechanic.

Bob’s next venture included a class in commercial copier repair, which took him on the road to various business places within his designated area. He took a class in small engine repair, which became very useful to repair all the small engines in his garage, and he hung out his shingle for a few years and did small engine repairs for others as well.

I can’t neglect the fact that he was also a builder. He built garages at both of the homes they owned. His garages were just a little bigger and a little stronger than the normal garage. The first one had a loft. The second one had a full second story.

Bob was predeceased by his father, Ralph Skebba, grandparents Adolph Skebba, Helen and Harold Selchert and Knud and Stella Klemesrud. 

Bob will be sadly missed by his wife Nancy, mother Annette, sister Karen, niece Sharon, grandniece Alexandriea and grandnephew James. He was also survived by his sister LaVonne, who passed away on February 12, 2025.

Visitation will take place on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until the 6:00 p.m. funeral service at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. Private burial will be held at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Pewaukee.
