Robert John Tallinger Sr. of Waukesha passed away on September 28, 2017 at the age of 89. He was born in Waukesha on May 7, 1928, the son of Joseph and Amelia (nee Suttner) Tallinger. Bob attended Waukesha High School and graduated in 1946. After high school, Bob worked at Waukesha Engine until he retired at the age of 37. In 1961, Bob was a National Guardsman, called to service in the Army for the Berlin Crisis. He later obtained his real-estate license and worked at Bruce Pollock Reality where he actively worked with the MLS. Bob was very active throughout his years, participating in the Waukesha Kiwanis Early Risers, volunteering on the advisory board of the Salvation army, and even being a Town Chairman and Town Supervisor for the Town of Waukesha. He was a member of the Waukesha Elks Lodge and was elected Exalted Ruler and served as Trustee.
Bob will be greatly missed by his wife of 59 years, Jan (nee Witmeyer) Tallinger of Waukesha, and their children, Robert (Michelle) Tallinger, Jr. of Waukesha, Ronald (Dawn) Tallinger of Waukesha, and Aurora Tallinger of Waukesha. He was the proud Grandfather of Jessica (Kevin Kuss) Tallinger, Robert John (Claire [nee Hager]) Tallinger III, Timothy Tallinger, Victoria Tallinger, Jamie (Tom) Gaeth, and Ronald J. (Fiance Kirsten Seibert) Tallinger, Jr. He was the loving Great Grandfather of Jordynn Gaeth and Landon James Tallinger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Amelia Tallinger, and his brother Joseph Tallinger.
Visitation will be held at Randle-Dable Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. Waukesha, WI 53186 on Sunday, October 1st, 2017 from 11:00am until time of Elks Lodge of Sorrow at 2:00pm. Religious services to follow at the funeral home at 2:15pm with the Reverend James Gorman presiding. Private family interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
