Robert “Bob” A. Yakel, of Eagle, died on Friday, August 23, 2013 at AngelsGrace Hospice surrounded by his loving family at the age of 79 years. He was born in Milwaukee on July 13, 1934 the son of Frances Frank and Anita Viola (nee Vietzke) Yakel. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. On October 13, 1956 he married Caroline Schwinn at St. Matthias Church. Bob worked in the irrigation industry as a successful regional sales manager for 30 years. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Eagle. Bob loved the north woods where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and his pontoon cruises. He also loved to golf and especially enjoyed his Sunday morning breakfasts with his grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his wit, one-liners and great sense of humor. But most of all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved his family more than anything.
He will be forever missed by his wife of almost 57 years, Carol of Eagle, his daughter Lynda (Mike) Baumann of Waukesha, his son Robert S. (Jeanne) Yakel of Denver, CO. He was the proud grandfather of Amie (Jay) Humbert of Mukwonago, Ashley Baumann of Waukesha, Michelle Yakel of Denver, CO and Airman 1st Class USAF Nikolaus (Stephanie) Yakel of Utah along with one great-grandson on the way. He is further survived by his sister Judy (the late Edward) Bringe of Mukwonago, his four-legged friend Maggie along with 3 nieces, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 9:30AM until the 11:30AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Catholic Church, 830 County Road NN E, Mukwonago, WI 53149. Fr. Mick Savio will preside. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Lupus Foundation of America, 2600 N.
