Couch, Roger A., Sr., 71, of Eagle, died October 21, 2010, joining his parents, Adeline and Clifford Couch. Dear father of Jodi L. (Kevin Shaw) Couch of Seattle, WA, Roger A. (Sandra) Couch of Oak Creek, and Jason Couch of Eagle. Proud grandfather of Elijah and Kaleb Shaw both of Seattle, WA, and Liesel, Dana, Logan, and Dietrich Couch all of Oak Creek. Loving brother of Marie Foote of Waterford, and Laurie (Roger) Helm of Waukesha. Further survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends, and his beloved dog Reba. Roger was born in Gas City, Indiana on April 17, 1939. After graduation from Pius XI Catholic High School in Milwaukee, he joined the US Navy, serving from 1957-1961. Returning to the Milwaukee area, he worked at Delco Electronics in Oak Creek for several years before starting his own electrical contracting company, Arc Electric. He was owner or partner of numerous businesses over the next thirty years, including owning and managing a bar, constructing and managing buildings in a business park, and renting luxury recreational vehicles. As a Master Electrician, he continued working up until his death as an Electrical Inspector. After moving to Eagle in 1983, Roger became an active member of the community, involved in Kettle Moraine Days, Lion’s Club, and serving as a Village of Eagle Trustee. In his younger days, he was a big race fan, sponsoring cars, and even racing himself. He also enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. Later in life he became an avid golfer. Roger also enjoyed gambling, traveling, practical jokes, and good times with friends and family. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home, with a funeral service at 7:00pm. A celebration of Roger’s life will follow at the Waukesha Eagles Aerie, #453, 709 N. Grandview Blvd., from 6:00 pm to midnight. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in his name to a favorite charity.
