Rolf Dieter Buschhaus, 83, of Waukesha, died at his home on November 25, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. Rolf was born on July 13, 1926, the only child to Walter and Ella (nee: Staas) Buschhaus in Essen, Germany. In 1954 Rolf moved to the United States. Three years later, he married Janet Ritchie in West Union, Iowa. Very early in Rolf’s life, he acquired a love of travel which never diminished. For more than 20 years he worked as an electrical engineer for Allis-Chalmers, traveling the world meeting new people. He also was a great lover of music, nature and his family. After retiring in the early 1990’s, Rolf continued traveling. Most frequently to Port Orange, Florida and enjoyed watching the space shuttle launches and soaking up the sun. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Janet Buschhaus (nee Ritchie); daughter Ann Buschhaus (Alan Ries), a son, Karl (Rosemary) Buschhaus, grandchildren: Anke and Soren Ries-Buschhaus; Octavia, Kenneth, Roland and Torsten Buschhaus other family and many friends. A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, November 30, 2009 at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. from 10:00 AM until the 12:00 PM (Noon) Memorial Service.
