Ronald “Ron” V. Marish Sr., of Waukesha, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Zilber Family Hospice at the age of 67. He was born in Milwaukee on February 29, 1948 the son of William and Mary (nee Psutka) Marish. On November 28, 1970 he married Kathleen Staffeldt at St. William Catholic Church in Waukesha. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church. Ron had three passions in life; flying, racing and sailing. Throughout his life he was an avid pilot, learning how to fly at age 15 and having his first solo flight at age 16. As a Sprint Car driver, Ron loved racing and won several championships. Ron also loved sailing and racing his sailboat on Lake Michigan. However, Ron’s greatest love and passion was his family. He loved his grandchildren and will always be remembered as a devoted and beloved husband, father and grandfather.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 44 years, Kathy of Waukesha and their children, Ron Marish Jr. of Waukesha and Julia (Scott) Villinski of Brookfield. He was the dear grandfather of Cameron Zielke and Morgan, Andrew and Hannah Villinski. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, William (Patsy) Marish, Edith (the late Jack) Nowicki, Edna Matzelle, Helen (Jim) Cramer, Maryann (Michael) Lange, Carl (Judy) Marish, Cathy (Tom) Hebert, Joanne (Paul) Jamrozy and Wilma (Patrick) Quinn; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim (Marj) Staffeldt, Pat (the late Jim) Sobrofski, Sally (Warren) Staffeldt-Mollenhauer and Brian (Sandy) Staffeldt along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 18000 W. Greenfield Ave., Brookfield, WI 53045 from 10:00AM until 10:50AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00AM. Reverend Kenneth J. Augustine will preside. Graveside services will follow the Mass at Prairie Home Cemetery.
