Ronald G. Sawchuk died June 24, 2016 at Aurora Hospital Grafton at age 76. He was born August 26, 1939 in Cudahy, WI, the son of George and Mabel (nee Williamson) Sawchuk.
Ron graduated from Cudahy High School in 1957. He spent his early years in the trucking industry as an owner operator and at Pressed Steel Tank and CW Transportation. He later became the owner of Ace Trailers.
Ron’s dry sense of humor was not always understood but he had a heart of gold. He was always there to lend a helping hand. He spent many happy times in the woods of Big Flats in Central Wisconsin helping to build a retirement home for his parents and chopping a lot of firewood. He loved country music, the older the better. He was an avid bowler with many high scores and trophies.
He will be sadly missed by his sisters, Betty (the late Bill) Luke, Nancy (the late Roscoe) Moro, Gloria (Gary) Rongstad and his stepsons Ronald and Robert Skubal. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife K’Ellen (nee Skubal), his parents and brother George.
Visitation will take place on Sat. July 9, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the noon memorial service at Salem United Methodist Church, 541 Hwy 59, Waukesha, WI 53186. Private interment will be held at a later date. If desired, memorials to the family in lieu of flowers, are appreciated.
