Roseann C. Westphal, a longtime Waukesha resident, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 7, 2020. She was surrounded by her loving family at AngelsGrace Hospice when she passed. She was born in Darlington, WI to John and Mary “Mabel” (nee Meyer) Boyle 92 years ago. On August 8, 1953 she married Kurt Westphal in Milwaukee; he preceded her in death on April 6, 2007. Prior to her marriage, Roseann worked for Miller Brewing before devoting her time to raising her family. She enjoyed working for the voting polls for many years. A woman of strong faith and a devout Catholic, Roseann was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. At church she found enjoyment in singing in the church and funeral choir, as well as working with the RCIA candidates. Her greatest joy was her family, and she will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
She will be sadly missed by her sons, Richard (Mary Denise Kaluzny) Westphal of Wisconsin Dells, Chuck (Theresa) Westphal of Pewaukee, Pat (Lonnie Curri) Westphal of Hartland, MI and James (Kimberley) Westphal of Delafield. She was the proud grandmother of Rebecca (Christopher Sorenson) Westphal of Verona, Matthew (Betty Suarez) Westphal of Milwaukee, Jeffrey Westphal of Thief River Falls, MN, Zachary (Jessica) Westphal of Murrieta, CA, Justin (Meghan) Brouchoud of New Berlin, Dan (Moriah Weingrod) Brouchoud of Bayview, Eric (Laura) Westphal of South Burlington, VT, Aimie (Josh Grossman) Westphal of Amesbury, MA, Marcus Westphal of Shorewood, Rin Westphal of Hartland, MI, Joshua (Kazmir) Westphal of Delafield, Brandon Westphal of Hartland and Lucas Westphal of Delafield and great-grandmother of David Suarez Garcia, Nolan, Nell and Nadia Sorenson, Mihal and Emmett Brouchoud, Alice Dalton, and Brooks and Kurt Westphal. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Kurt, she was preceded in death by her son Michael James Westphal and her siblings, John J. Boyle Jr., Mary Wickham, Father Harold Stansell, Sister Eustacia Stansell, Charles Stansell and Wolfred Stansell Jr.
Heartfelt appreciation is extended to the nurses and staff at AngelsGrace Hospice for their care, kindness and compassion provided to Roseann and her family the last several weeks.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. until the 12:30 p.m. funeral Mass: all to be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated in Roseann’s name to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
