Rosemarie Etzel of North Prairie died on Saturday, October 15, 2022 surrounded by the love of her family at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 74. She was born in Milwaukee on May 9, 1948 the daughter of William and Catherine (nee Jessen) Rebholz. She attended Holy Cross Grade School, Pius High School and earned her business administration degree from Cardinal Stritch. She led a life of service, generously giving of her time and talents. Rosemarie worked as secretary for Rebholz Insurance, for the Milwaukee School Board for two years and then served as the Director of Administrative Services for St. Paul’s Catholic Church and School for 33 years. She was passionate and devoted to her work at St. Paul’s and was active in many committees and organizations at the church and throughout the community including, Home & School Association, Coordinator of Religious Education Grades Pre-6, Confirmation Moderator, Religious Ed pre-school teacher, grade school room mother, school playground supervisor, Archdiocesan Business Manager Association, St. Paul Building Committee, Administrative Services Committee, Finance Committee, Grief Support Team, St. Paul Cemetery Committee, Christian Women and the North Prairie Fire Auxiliary. In both her business and personal life she connected to others with kindness, energy and a smile that was contagious. Her silly and humorous side made events memorable and we are grateful for it.
She is loved and will be sadly missed by her loving sons, Douglas (Tina) Etzel of Dousman, Brian (Tiffany) Etzel of Lincolnshire, IL and Scott (Lace) Etzel of Hartland; her cherished grandchildren, Nathan, Joshua, Tyler, Emery, Tucker and Logan; her much loved brothers and sisters, James (Jean) Rebholz, Larry (Hildegard) Rebholz, Mary Beth (Tom) Wingenter, Mark (Cheryl) Rebholz, John Rebholz, Kenneth (Sharon) Rebholz, Christopher (Kelly) Rebholz and Karen (Mark) Jones; and many loved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her former husband Mark Etzel; beloved daughter Heidi; her parents Bill and Catherine; sister and brother-in-law Eileen (David) Carey; brother and sister-in-law Daniel (Yolanda) Rebholz; and brother Joseph.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. followed by the funeral Mass at 3:00 p.m. all at St. Paul’s Catholic Church (Hwy 83 & D) Genesee Depot, WI (S38 W31602 Wern Way, Waukesha, WI 53189). Private burial for the family will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Memorials in Rosemarie’s name are appreciated to St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery for special upgrades and beautification.
