Ruben Reyes age 79 of Waukesha passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 18, 1940 in Edinburg, Texas to Felix and Gregoria (Molina) Reyes. After moving to Wisconsin, Ruben met Maria Torres and they were married December 17, 1977 in Randolph, WI. Ruben was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and had a green thumb for gardening especially his beloved lime tree. Though Ruben’s family all loved different football teams, in particular the Green Bay Packers, Ruben always quietly cheered for the Dallas Cowboys. There are many great memories over arguing about the superior football team. After Ruben’s retirement from being a machinist, he spent many years working as a security guard at Waukesha State Bank, which he loved doing. Ruben loved to attend church at St. William with Maria. Most importantly, he was a family man. He attended many sports events for his children and then his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Ruben is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maria Reyes and their children: Yvette (Jamie) Estrada of New Berlin and Tony (Patti) Reyes of Muskego. He is also survived by his children Yvonne Esquivel, Ruben Reyes Jr., and Iris Reyes from Texas. Grandchildren Jessenia Estrada, Christopher (Emily) Estrada, Tony W. Reyes II, Marisa Reyes, Alexis Reyes, Jacqueline Reyes, Danielle McLemore and Olivia McLemore. He is further survived by his sister Consuelo (Ricardo) Balderas, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
