Ruby Evaline Smyczek, of Mukwonago, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2016 surrounded by her family at AngelsGrace Hospice at age 85. She was born in Hillsboro, WI on December 6, 1930 the daughter of Gregory and Hazel (nee Markee) Jefferies. On December 18, 1976 she married Gordon Smyczek in Waukesha. Ruby worked for the Waukesha County Mental Health Center for more than 28 years as a psychiatric tech. She was a member of Vernon Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mukwonago. Ruby enjoyed growing African Violets and other plants and doing crafts. Most of all she loved being with her family and will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of almost 40 years, Gordon of Mukwonago and their children, Conrad (Lisa) Morgan, Russell Morgan, Terry (Kathy) Morgan, Thomas Morgan, Monica (Scott) Hanneman, Brian (Vicky) Smyczek and Roseanne (Tom) Wagar along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters Gloria Olson and Virginia McMillan along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters Lyle Jefferies, Olga Lewis, Berwyn Jefferies, John Jefferies, Glenda Jefferies and Ina Fields and son David Smyczek.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Vernon Evangelical Lutheran Church, S90 W27550 National Avenue, Mukwonago, WI 53149. Pastor Molly Doreza will preside. Entombment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield. Please meet at the cemetery in the green parking area.
