Ruth Ann Schilling, of Waukesha, died on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Care-Age of Brookfield at the age of 78. She was born in Waukesha on March 31, 1946, the daughter of Fred R. and Mary T. (nee Kainz) Strehlow. On May 17, 1975 she married Ronald “Ron” Schilling. Ruth brought warmth and joy to everyone she met, whether through her infectious smile, quick-witted comebacks, or the small gifts she loved to share. She found true happiness in spending time with her husband, two daughters, five grandkids, and cherished friends. Whether "bumming" with loved ones, striking up conversations with strangers, or hunting for the perfect bargain, Ruth embraced life with a generous heart and a playful spirit. She never passed up a good deal—or a chance to try her luck at a slot machine. Her kindness and unwavering love made everyone feel valued, and her laughter will echo in the hearts of those who knew her. Ruth will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the stories shared, the love she gave, and the joy she brought to so many lives.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Ron of Waukesha; daughters Lisa (the late Mathew) Hintz of Waukesha and Amy (Jeff) Mironischen of Milwaukee; grandchildren Kieran, Grady, Sawyer, Sadie and Noah. She is further survived by her twin brother Robert (Kipp) Strehlow of Arkansas, brother Ed (Liz) Strehlow of Colorado, sister Pauline Laumann of Mukwonago, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Kathleen “Katie” Grieser.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 830 E. Veterans Way, Mukwonago, WI 53149.
