WAUKESHA—Santiago Gutierrez-Ruiz of Waukesha, died June 25, 2008 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 73. He was born on July 24, 1934 in Nayarit, Mexico to Francisco and Angela (nee: Navarro) Gutierrez. He worked for Christina’s Restaurant for the past 22 years. On June 30, 1984 he married the former Connie Hernandez at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he has been a longtime member. He was very proud to have recently become an American citizen on May 16, 2008. Santiago received an award from La Casa de Esperanza for helping others to become citizens. He will be remembered for his salsa that he often shared with his friends and co-workers. Santiago will be sadly missed by his wife, Connie of Waukesha, his children: Luis Fernando (Rosario) Gutierrez-Panúco of Waukesha, David, Arturo, Angelica, Ricardo, Fidel and Santiago Gutierrez all of Mexico, Gilbert (Jennifer) Zuniga, Joel Zuniga, Stephan (Breanney) Zuniga and Rachael (John) O’Brien all of Waukesha. Proud grandfather of Olga Lidia, Brian Omar, Lucia Eyeraldin, Esmeralda Elizabeth and Luis Fernando, Jr. Gutierrez, Michael (Melissa), Brittany and Dustin Zuniga, Elias and Ethan Venson, Chloe O’Brien, Heather Cruz, Cody, Adrianna and Isabella Zuniga. Loving great grandfather of Jose Luis Aguayo-Gutierrez and Mia Zuniga. Loving brother of Pedro and Angel Gutierrez, Maria Avalo, Carmen Gutierrez and Benita Gutierrez. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29 from 4:00 PM until the 7:00 PM Vigil Service at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI. A second visitation will take place on Monday, June 30 from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha. The Very Reverend James T. Volkert and Deacon Jorge Benavente will preside. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to the family.
