Our beautiful mother, Sarah Mesa, a lifelong Waukesha resident was called home to the arms of the Lord to join her husband Nicolas in Heaven surrounded by the love of her family on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the age of 89. She was born in Rural Cameron, Texas on May 4, 1930 the daughter of Nabor and Maria (Duque) Lopez. Sarah enjoyed dancing, gardening and sitting outside watching the birds. She was happiest when she was with her family and she especially cherished her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She is loved and will be sadly missed by her children, Richard (Penny) Mesa, Maryann (Richard) Pape, Michael (Debbie) Mesa, William (Sue) Mesa and Janet Dalgren, grandchildren, Nicholas Pape, Michael Mesa, Joshua Mesa, Tylor (DeAnna) Mesa, Sarah (Dustin) Dettmann, Jessica Friedlander and Alec Mesa, great-grandmother of Aja, Emma, Alicia, Noelia, Jacob, Dylan, Jackson, Aliyah, Ari, JJ and TayAnna and great-great-grandmother of Armonni. She is further survived by her special sister-in-law Florence Gomez, her 4-legged couch companion Libby, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Nicolas in 2001 and her brothers and sisters.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the ProHealth Home Care and Hospice volunteers and staff and a very special thank you to nurse Pam who was very caring and helped us through this difficult time with mom.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until the 6:00 p.m. Rosary Service at the Randle-Dable Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Services continue Monday, March 16th at the funeral home with prayers beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by a procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186 for the 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
