Sharon Jean (nee Matek) Gonzales, of Waukesha, died Sunday, July 5, 2020 at her home surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 71. She was born in Waukesha, on April 9, 1949 to Paul Frank Sr. and Lydia (nee Abel) Matek. On July 11, 2003 she married Steve Gonzales. She retired in 2009. Sharon enjoyed bowling, bicycling, reading, fishing, sewing, and cooking. She was most proud of being a great homemaker and will be fondly remembered as such.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Steve Gonzales, and their children; Dawn (Mitch) Lalor, Cheryl Martin, Julie "Judy" Hinkston, and Brenda (Robert) Gavin. Step children Anne Fellows, Tina Gonzales, Theresa (Roy) Jackson, and Stephanie (Ken) Simmons. Her grandchildren Robert, Alexander, Bryan and Brandon, and great-grandchildren Jensen and Rory. She is further survived by many step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, her siblings Ronald Matek, Barbara Trombley, and Darlene (Lonnie) Nylund, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Paul Matek Jr., sister Margaret Fletcher, brothers-in-law William Trombley and Kenneth Nylund and infant sister Nancy.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. funeral service at True Life Church, 1615 Silvernail Rd. Pewaukee. Graveside services will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
