Sharon Ann O’Hara, of Oconomowoc, died on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at her home at the age of 69. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK on September 8, 1944 the daughter of James and Marjorie (nee Osborn) O’Hara. Sharon had a long career as a registered nurse. She was active in the American Society of Perianesthesia Nurses and Wisconsin Society of Perianesthesia Nurses, serving on the Board of Directors for the state for many years. She was also a member of the Peer Assistance Advisory Board for the Wisconsin Nurses Association. Sharon was an avid reader and quilter and enjoyed scuba diving and loved to travel.
Sharon was blessed with a great family and wonderful friends who will dearly miss her. She is survived by her son Michael J. (Bonnie) Gugler of Fond du Lac, her daughter Susan (Mike) Gates of Eagle and her three grandchildren, Crystal, Matthew and Ben. She is further survived by her brothers, Patrick (Carol) O’Hara of Prior Lake, MN, Kevin (Barbara) O’Hara of Brooklyn Center, MN, and her sister Maureen (Jim) Kehborn of Backus, MN along with nieces, a nephew, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Honoring Sharon’s wishes, private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, Sharon requested memorial’s in her name be made to the Ocean Conservancy, 1300 19th Street, NW 8th Floor, Washington, DC 20036 or to the International Crane Foundation, E-11376 Shady Lane Rd., PO Box 447, Baraboo, WI 53913.
