Shirley Redford

June 22, 1917 — August 11, 2008

Shirley Redford, of Waukesha, died peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2008 at the age of 91.  Shirley was born on June 22, 1917, the oldest daughter of Hugo and Martha Siewert in the town of Lisbon, Waukesha County.  She graduated from Waukesha High School in 1935.  Shirley worked for the city of Waukesha for 46 years, retiring in 1983.  She married Roy S. Redford on May 5th, 1942 in Mississippi.  Together they lived in New England for a short time before moving back to Waukesha, where they built a home on Glenn Drive.  Roy passed away on October 21st, 2007.  Shortly after Roy’s death, Shirley moved to LindenGrove in Waukesha.  Roy and Shirley were both longtime golf enthusiasts and belonged to Oconomowoc Country Club for many years, where she once won the women’s golf championship.  Shirley played an exhibition match that year with Patty Berg, a national women’s championship golfer. Shirley is survived by her sister, Elly Parry; brother-in-law, Roland Harvey; nieces and nephews:  James (Kathy) Harvey of Lexington, KY, Tommy (Paulette) Harvey of Bossier City, LA, Susan Cornette of Fortworth, TX, Patti Harvey of Bossier City, LA, Maria (Tommy) Starkey of Lexington, KY, Laura (Mike) Bratcher of Hooks, TX, Jeanne (Tim) Stien of Rocton, IL, Jill (Michael) Woodford of Hartland, Jim (Karla) Parry of Hartland, and Brent (Penny) Redford of Waukesha.  In addition to her husband Roy, she is preceded in death by her sisters: Olive Harvey and Sonya Siewert, and nephew, Thomas Redford.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at Praire Home Cemetery, Waukesha.  Refreshments and fellowship will follow from 1:00 until 3:00PM at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Salvation Army, 445 Madison Street, Waukesha, WI 53188, Women's Center, 505 N.
