Shirley Ronan Pelishek, a longtime resident of Big Bend, died on Friday, January 23, 2015 at her home at the age of 94. She was born on October 9, 1920 the daughter of Clyde and Kathryn Noggle. Shirley was a faithful woman and a devoted member of St. Joseph Parish in Big Bend for more than 50 years. She loved children and enjoyed babysitting, playing cards, walking, riding her bike, swimming and dancing the night away. Shirley was an excellent cook and baker. She loved a party, whether it be going to one or throwing one and especially loved celebrating the holidays. Shirley had a big heart and would always help anyone in need. She will be forever remembered as an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Pat (Kathy) Ronan of Whitefish Bay, Janann (Joe) Treuden of Tennessee, Mike Ronan of Big Bend and Cathy (the late Bob) Szmanda of Waukesha. She was the best grandmother to Jeff (Laura) Treuden, Jennifer (Chris) Erato, Jennifer (Robbie) Payne, Jeannie Ronan-Burke and Brian (Teri) Ronan; great-grandmother to Matt (Shelby), Dylan, Kassi, Hunter, Jimmy, Elle, Allyson and Cate and great-great-grandmother to Clayton. She is further survived by her sister Fern Chambers of Prairie du Chien, her sister-in-law Margie Noggle of Hales Corners, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband Jack Ronan, her second husband Daniel Pelishek, her son Francis John Ronan and her siblings, Elgia, Ken and Clyde.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 10:30AM until the time of the 11:30AM funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, S89 W22650 Milwaukee Avenue, Big Bend, WI 53103. Father Kevin McManaman will preside. Burial will follow at Rural Home Cemetery. Memorials in Shirley’s name are appreciated to St. Joseph Catholic Parish.
