Socorro Llanas Torres

Socorro “Cora” Llanas Torres, of Waukesha, died Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 88.  She was born on May 13, 1920 in Mexico, the daughter of Amador and Rosa (Balandran) Llanas.  Cora was a migrant worker, which brought her family to Waukesha in 1941.  She went to work for General Castings and Amron, then later worked for 10 years as a waitress for Walgreens in downtown Waukesha.  Cora was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church since 1941.  Cora will be sadly missed by her son, Ricardo (Maria) Torres of Dousman; her daughter, Esther (Robert) Ludwig of Coppell, Texas; five grandchildren:  Christina Torres of California, Richard (Erica) Torres of California, Michael Torres of California, Ricardo II (Vaughn) Torres of Dousman, and Andrea (Brian) Kazinski of Dousman; four great-grandchildren:  Danny Torres, Breeanna Kazinski, Braelyn Torres, and Leila Torres; sisters:  Mary (Alfredo) Marquez of Waukesha, Jane (Frank) Marchan of Waukesha, Fidela Ybarra of El Paso, Texas, and Susie (Santos) Gomez of Milwaukee; brothers:  Juan Llanas of Milwaukee, Angelo Llanas of Waukesha, Pedro (Olivia) Llanas of Waukesha, Pablo Llanas of Muskego, Inez (Carmen) Llanas of Waukesha, Walter (Angie) Llanas of Waukesha, Isidro (Dora) Llanas of Waukesha, and Charlie Llanas of Waukesha.  She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents: Amador and Rosa Llanas; brother, Christobal Llanas; sister, Josefina Llanas; and sister-in-laws:  Frances Llanas, Janie Llanas, and Sara Llanas.  Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI, with the Rosary prayed at 7:00 PM.  Services will continue on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the funeral home with prayers at 10:15 AM, followed by a procession to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, for the 11:00 AM Funeral Mass.  Fr.
