Stanley H. Mindiola of Waukesha died on Friday, July 5, 2019 at the age of 88. He was born in Waukesha on May 7, 1931 the son of Antonio and Rafaela (nee Hernandez) Mindiola. He proudly served in the United States National Guard for ten years. On April 5, 1952 he married his beloved wife, Ophelia (Martinez) Mindiola; she preceded him in death on December 29, 2017. Stanley worked for General Castings as a mechanical engineer before becoming the shop supervisor. Following the closing of General Castings, along with his wife Ophelia he owned and operated Mindy’s Tap on The Strand for many years. Stanley also worked for Waukesha County Social Services while running Mindy’s Tap. He enjoyed coaching baseball and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Most of all, he cherished his family and friends and will be remembered for his gentle and kind spirit.
He will be sadly missed by his children, Stanley (Kelly) Mindiola Jr. of Waukesha, Lupe (Armida Steele) Mindiola of California, Celia (David) Reinke of Franklin, Tim (Wendy) Mindiola of Waukesha, Daniel (Susan Coogan) Mindiola of Waukesha, Andrew (Selina) Mindiola of Oconomowoc and his daughter-in-law Kimberle Mindiola. He was the proud grandfather of Sarah, Shannon, Meggan, Melinda, Corrina, Stanley III, Timothy, Jeremiah, Danny, Alyssa, Jacob, Leah and Camryn and great-grandfather of Beau, Bella and Stanley IV. He is further survived by his sister, Julie ( the late James) Cervantes of West Allis, brothers, Anthony Lopez of Waukesha, Matt (Mary) Lopez of Waukesha and John (Unmi) Lopez of Atlanta, GA, his sisters-in-law Sandy Mindiola of Las Vegas, NV and Bonnie Mindiola of Waukesha, his 4-legged companions, Buddy and Odie, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife of 65 years, Ophelia, he was preceded in death by his son Ralph and brothers Tony Mindiola and John Mindiola and sisters Lupe Barreto and Ysidra Garcia.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until time of the 7:00 p.m. brief prayer service at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues on Saturday, July 13th at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. followed by a procession to St. Joseph Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. burial and graveside service.
