Steven Steve “Cheez” R. Kind of Milwaukee, formerly of Waukesha, died unexpectedly Friday, October 21, 2016 at the age of 49. He was born in Waukesha on October 3, 1967, the son of Dean Kind and Sharron (nee Harder) O’Brien. Steve was a graduate of Waukesha South High School and attended WCTC, where he studied Firefighter/EMS and Electrical. He worked for Pieper Power where he was an electrical foreman and was a member of the IBEW Local 2150. Steve was an active member of the Ambassadors for Christ Church, where he was part of the worship team and played the drums. He loved skateboarding when he was younger, riding his Harley, golfing, hockey, hunting, being outdoors and going up north to his uncle’s lake. Most of all he loved his daughters and being with his family.
He will be deeply missed by his loving mother and stepfather, Sharron and Tom O’Brien of Waukesha, his daughters Hailey and Lacey McConnaghy of Portage, MI, and his brothers and sisters, Theresa Curtis of Waukesha, Steve (Michelle) O’Brien of Madison, Erin (Scott) Barrier of Nashville, TN, and Sean (Krysta) O’Brien of Cleveland, OH. He is further survived by his nieces and nephews, Melissa, Nicole, Sara, Amanda, Holly, Breanna, Callie, Logan, Caitlin, Liam and Genevieve, his great-nephew Jack, along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Dean and his sister Laura Brunk.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Pastor Sean O’Brien and Pastor Morris Smith will co-officiate the service. Graveside services will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
