Theresa L. Mitchell, a lifelong Waukesha resident, died on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Virginia Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 101 years. She was born in Waukesha on March 26, 1911 the daughter of Stephen and Theresa (nee Gubena) Bollogh. She was a 1929 graduate of Waukesha High School. Following her graduation Theresa worked as a telegraph operator for Western Union. She went on to work at Waukesha National Bank and served as the secretary for several Mayors in Waukesha and also was the secretary for the Government and Housing Authority for the City of Waukesha. Theresa was a very active and faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she belonged to the Christian Mothers. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Kathleen Mitchell (John Jacobson) of Eau Claire and her son Patrick (Kathy) Mitchell of Greenfield, her grandchildren, Beth (Rob) Hanel, Michael (Melissa) Mitchell and Kristi Mitchell, and her great-grandchildren, Lucas, Eli, and Carly Hanel and Reese Mitchell. She is further survived by her nephews, Jim (Mary Jo) McKenzie, Paul (Phyllis) McKenzie, Jim (Bobbie) Rosenmerkel and David Lavalee, her nieces, Julie (David) Johnson, Mary Alice Coulliard, Marilyn (Kenneth) Andler and Helen Southworth, and her cousin Gary Zelling, along with many great and great-great nieces, nephews, especially Kelly McKenzie, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd in 1967, her brothers, Stephen, John and Henry, her sisters Clara Martin and Mary McKenzie and her parents. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM funeral Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. Father Howard Haase will preside. A private family burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Mary Catholic Church.
