Thomas F. Selle

Thomas F. Selle, 71, died on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born in Milwaukee on January 2, 1949 to Gerhardt and Ruth (nee Capelle) Selle. Thomas was a 1967 graduate of Milwaukee Lutheran High School and earned a master’s degree in fine arts at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1973. He was a long- time professor of fine arts at Carroll University, retiring as an emeritus professor in 2009. Thomas was a practicing artist who exhibited his work in juried shows and won many awards. He was a life member and president of Wisconsin Visual Artists.
He is sadly missed by his loving wife of 44 years, Stephanie Copoulos-Selle; their children, Rachel (Scot) Simpson of River Falls and Andrew (Christina) Selle of Los Altos, CA. Thomas is the beloved grandfather of Madeline, Benjamin, Samuel, Alexander, Julian and Kira; dear brother of James (Susan) Selle and Mark R. (Linda) Selle, both of West Bend. Nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Gerhardt and Ruth Selle.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Randle-Dable Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. Waukesha. Visitation continues Monday, March 2, 2020 at the funeral home, from 9:00 until 10:00 AM followed by a procession to Wisconsin Memorial Park for the graveside service and burial at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the UWM Foundation, Inc. in memory of Tom Selle '73.
