Valentine A. Hetzel of Milwaukee was born to Eternal Life on Friday, July 13, 2018 at age 87. He was born in Plain, WI on Aug. 4, 1930 the son of Alois and Clara (nee Hartl) Hetzel. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Valentine worked as a civil engineer for the State of Wisconsin for many years.
He will be sadly missed by his children, Mary Clare (Patrick) Trainor, Susan (fiancé Bill Bailey) Johnson, Paul (Lisa) Hetzel and Mark (Tami) Hetzel, his good friend and companion Lorraine Wandsnider, grandchildren, Patrick Allen Trainor II (Elizabeth), Meaghan Trainor (Justin Dedecker), Sarah Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Hannah Johnson, Emma Hetzel, Benjamin Hetzel, Grace Hetzel, Erika Hetzel, Molly Hetzel and Lindsay Hetzel and great-grandchildren, Paddy Trainor, Hank Trainor, Eileen Trainor, Elinor Valentine Dedecker. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, “J” (Sonnie) Hetzel, Betty (Merlyn) Brockman, Sister Marlene Hetzel O.D., Caroline Ballweg, Francis Hetzel, Robert (Dottie) Hetzel, Patsy (Walter) Miller, Bernice (James) Grota, David Hetzel, and Tom Hetzel along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Ann and brothers Ted and James Hetzel.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 20th from 9AM until the 10:30AM funeral Mass at St. Anne’s Salvatorian Chapel, 3800 N. 92nd Street, Milwaukee, WI 53222. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Anne’s Campus. Burial will be at 2:30PM at Holy Cross Cemetery with full military honors.
