Victor “Vic” B. Schipp, of Waukesha, who touched many lives and always gave of himself to help others went home Tuesday, July 1, 2014 to be reunited with the love of his life Mary Jane and to see his Savior at the age of 94. He was born on February 29, 1920 in Adrian, MN the son of Gerhardt and Josephine (nee Miller) Schipp. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. On February 15, 1947 he married Mary Jane Tompitch at St. Joseph Catholic Church; she preceded him in death on December 19, 2001. Victor worked for Waukesha Engine for 36 years and was a member of the Waukesha Engine Old Timers. He also worked as an electrician at Merz Electric. Victor was a very active and dedicated member of St. Vincent de Paul and the Serra Club. Along with his wife he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church since 1947 where he was part of the Holy Name Society and the 3rd Order of St. Francis. He enjoyed collecting shot glasses and amassed over 2,000 glasses.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Jeanne (Eduardo) Llanas of Waukesha and his son Greg (Antoinette) Schipp of Milwaukee. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife Mary Jane, he was preceded in death by his son Brian on October 30, 1983 and his brothers and sisters, William, Anthony, Bernard, Frank, Caroline, Clara, Ann and Sophie.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 10:00AM until the time of the 11:00AM funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Father Bill Key will preside. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
