Virginia “Ginger” G. Holm a lifelong Waukesha resident, passed away peacefully at home following a brief illness on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the age of 96. She was born in Waukesha on July 22, 1922 the daughter of William and Mary (nee Gannon) Schwartz. She was a 1940 graduate of Waukesha High School where she was proud to be the city diving and ice-skating champion. On January 4, 1943, she married Leif Holm on the Santa Ana Air Force base in California and together they celebrated 65 years of marriage until his death on July 12, 2008. She was the founder of the Waukesha Chapter of Mothers of Twins Club. Ginger had been a member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church before attending Fox River Christian Church the last several years. She loved sports, delighted in telling jokes and charmed people with her stories. Ginger lived life to the fullest and was the life of the party. Her life has made an everlasting impact as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She will always be remembered for her beauty, grace, sense of humor and love for all.
She will be forever missed by her 10 loving and devoted children, Tina Holm of Waukesha, Eric Holm of Waukesha, Greg Holm of Milwaukee, Kaia (Dave) Poulson of Waukesha, Kris (Debbie) Holm of Grafton, Kurt (Wendy) Holm of Estero, FL, Thor (Cynthia) Holm of St. Pete, FL, Maia Hanson (Bob Pierson) of Waukesha, Mari (Jim) Eschenbaum of Sping Valley, IL and Kali (Chas) McDonell of Brookfield. She was the proud grandmother of her 20 grandchildren: Nels Pederson, Erica (Stephen) Dorigan, Ginger, Meg, and Elizabeth Poulson, Jessica Holm, Leif (Evelyn) Holm, Allison (Chris) Aiello, Andrew, Kaitlin and Logan Holm, Dylan, Doyle, Antonio and Kari Holm, Thor Hanson, Madeline (Tyler) Goodwill, Nadine and Nola Hanson, and Nilia McDonell and dear great-grandmother of Grace, Lucia, Evie, Eloise and Jude. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband Leif, she was preceded in death by her son Nels, granddaughter Kari Pederson, her brother Jack Schwartz and sisters, Helen Ensslin and Marion Bartos.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until time of the 6:30 p.m. memorial service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Pastor Rob Warnell will preside. Private burial will be held Friday at Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin.
