Virginia Gourdoux

Virginia Gourdoux, of Genesee Depot, died Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Autumn Bay in Pewaukee at the age of 90. She was born on March 6, 1926, in Waukesha, the daughter of Ben and Florence (nee Gibson) Kuehl. She was a 1944 graduate of Waukesha High School. On May 29, 1948 she married Val W. Gourdoux at St. Paul Catholic Church in Genesee Depot. She was the Postmaster of the Genesee Depot Post Office, until her retirement in 1989. Virginia was a life long member of St. Paul Catholic Church where she was a member of the Christian Mothers, Altar Society and sang in the choir.

She will be sadly missed by her children Charlotte (Craig) Turner of Genesee Depot, Tim (Tracy Leetz) Gourdoux of Elkhorn, Eileen (Francisco Mora) Gourdoux of Glendale, Mary Gourdoux of Zachary, LA, Kate Gourdoux Whelan of White Bear Lake, MN, Tom Gourdoux of Waukesha and John Gourdoux of Genesee Depot. Dear grandmother of Jenny (Chris) Washburn of Merton, Bennett Whelan of Minneapolis, MN, Bridget Whelan of St. Paul, MN, Madeline Whelan of Chicago and Sarah (Wayne) Glover of Glendale. Beloved great grandmother of Lindsey and Addison Washburn. She is further survived by her sister Isabelle (Gerald) Herrmann of Genesee Depot, nephews Carl and Kurt Herrmann, niece Jane Herrmann, cousin Kathleen Gibson, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Val on March 5, 1998.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 24, from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral Mass all at St. Paul Catholic Church, corner of Hwy 83 and Hwy D in Genesee Depot.
