Virginia W. Martin, of Pewaukee, died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc at the age of 91 years. She was born in Huron, South Dakota on September 4, 1921 the only child of the late Robert and Lois (nee Drew) Wilkin. She was a graduate of Shorewood High School. On November 26, 1944 she married Darrell Martin at Shorewood Presbyterian Church; he preceded her in death on October 18, 2007. Virginia was an active member of Kettle Moraine United Presbyterian Church where she served as a church elder, worked as the children’s choir director and enjoyed helping with the Vacation Bible School. She was previously a member of North Shore Presbyterian Church. Virginia enjoyed horseback riding and was an excellent artist in a variety of medias. She had a great voice and beautiful music talent. Virginia was a supporter of the Pewaukee Public Library and she found great joy in spending time outdoors with her husband.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Reverend Mark (Carol) Martin of Iowa City, IA, Deacon Todd (Colleen) Martin of Madison and Mary (Jeff) Bublitz of Pewaukee, her grandchildren, Meghan (Jeremy) Breidenbach of Waukesha, Matthew (Mandy) Bublitz of Fall River, Maureen Ann (Mike) Ericson of Madison, Rob (Barbara) Martin of Seattle, WA, Katie (Ryan) Starr of Tacoma, WA and Scott (Lisa) Martin of Puyallup, WA along with her great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Joshua, Liam, Kaitlyn, Autumn and Eve. She is further survived by her dear friend Susie Roesler of Sun Prairie, and her many friends at Kirkland Crossings.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013 from 4:00 until 7:00PM at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. Visitation continues on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 10:00 until the 11:00AM funeral service at Kettle Moraine United Presbyterian Church, N66 W32690 County Road K, Hartland, WI 53029. Reverend Kurt D. Walker will preside. A private family burial will be held at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee.
