Vivian D. Staffeldt, a lifelong Waukesha resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Seasons Hospice surrounded by her family at the age of 90 years. She was born in Waukesha on March 2, 1922 the daughter of Daniel and Sarah (nee Knutson) Dexter. She was a 1942 graduate of Waukesha High School. On March 14, 1943 she married Orman Staffeldt at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church; he preceded her in death in 2004. Vivian was a member of TOPS for many years and was a longtime and faithful member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and loved her dogs. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Karen Schwulst of Waukesha, Nancy (Bill) Dixon of the town of Waukesha, Daniel (Trudy) Staffeldt of the town of Waukesha and daughter-in-law Patti Staffeldt of Waterford and her 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Orman, she was preceded in death by her son John Staffeldt, son-in-law Warren Schwulst, her granddaughters, Jenna Dixon and Cindy Schwulst, her sisters Janet Murdock and Shirley Falesnick and her brother Donald Dexter.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. John Fish and to the staff of Oak Hill Village for their gentle and tender care provided to Vivian.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 4:00 until the 6:00PM funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. Reverend Gary Liedtke will preside. Burial will be held on Friday, March 1st at 11:00AM at Prairie Home Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery office.
