Walter J. Llanas a longtime Waukesha resident passed away at home surrounded by his family on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the age of 83. He was born in Lockhart, Texas on January 5, 1935 the son of Amador and Rosa Llanas. On April 16, 1955 he married his beloved wife, Angie Sanchez. Walter worked for many years at General Castings in Waukesha. He was a talented musician and an avid pool player. Walter was a great storyteller and wrote many short stories. He enjoyed his countless trips to Potawatomi, and it wasn’t to play bingo. He was most happy when he was with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he cherished. Walter will always be remembered as a loving and patient father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 63 years, Angie of Waukesha and their children, Danny (Maureen) Llanas of Waukesha, Anita (Sam) Lindner of Waukesha, Eva (Todd) Mikolajczyk, Dude Llanas of Glendale, Samuel Llanas of Milwaukee and Rosie (Mario Pacheco) Llanas of Waukesha. He was the proud grandfather of Danny, Russell, Amy (Jason), Thomas, Rachel (Mike), Michael (Jennell), Karl, John, Krystal (Brian), James (Rachel), Austin (Kevin), Jake, Steven, Cole, Olivia, Vincent, Samantha and Hudson and great-grandfather of Danny, Desiray, Jayden, Christian, Skyler, Yovanni, Adelina, Dylan, Priscilla, Raelyn, Jacenda, Jaymus, Brooklyn, Bently and Mason. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Mary Marquez, Janie Marchan, Angelo Llanas, Inez (Carmen) Llanas, Pablo Llanas, Susie (Santos) Gomez and Charlie Llanas, sister-in-law Olivia Llanas, his best buddies, Julian, Jimmy, Aurelio & Eva, Nicky, Joe L., Joe H., Pete, David, Freddy and Bobby along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Amador and Rosa Llanas, son Thomas “Tomato”, grandson John, sisters Socorro, Fidela and Josephine, brothers Juan (Sara), Cristobal (Frances), Pedro and Isidro “Chilo”, sister-in-law Janie Llanas, brothers-in-law Frank Marchan and Alfredo Marquez and nephew Luis Gomez.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until time of the 6:00 p.m. funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Deacon Jorge Benavente will preside. Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 29th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery. Please meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. for closing prayers and the procession to the cemetery.
