Walter M. Scheel

January 14, 1925 — October 22, 2013

Walter M. Scheel, of Genesee, died on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at his home surrounded by the love and care of his family at the age of 88. He was born in Loyal, WI on January 14, 1925 the son of Ralph and Elizabeth (nee Thomas) Scheel. On January 19, 1951 he married Joann Trevorrow at her parents home on the Winzenried Farm. She preceded him in death on October 22, 2005. Walter worked as a milkman for Borden Dairy for many years. He was devoted to his family and will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was loved and cherished by his children: Dawn (Roman) Niemyjski of Franksville, Beth McCutcheon of McFarland, Faith (Steve) Olson Sr. of Eagle, Janet (Fred) Carsky Jr. of Menomonee Falls, Blaine Scheel of McFarland, Mark (Roxanne) Scheel of Kewaskum, Ruth (Keith) Hess of Dousman, Rebekah (Glen) Rhinesmith of Wales, David (Rachel) Scheel of St. Francis, Daniel (Gayle) Scheel and Paul (Gwen Anne) Scheel, both of Dousman.

Walter was a wonderful and caring grandfather to Jason (the late Jackie) Niemyjski and Justin (Jody) Niemyjski, Rebekah (Todd) Biermann, Christine (Steve) Grisius, Joseph and Jacob Niemyjski, Ryan (Liz) Niemyjski, Sarah (Mark) Gernetzke, Stevie (Janel) Olson, Jr., Jana (Brian) Poehnelt and Amy (Mike) Hoff, Freddie (Julia) Carsky III, Elizabeth (Aaron) Blazek, Jennie (Todd) Hetzel, Robert (Elizabeth) Carsky, Elaine (Nick) Shirley, and Alan (fiancé Whitney) Carsky, Angie (Greg) Ewald, Walter (Haydee) Scheel, Wendy Scheel, Stephanie (David) Seeley, Rachel (Tony) Lubarsky and Laura Hess, John (Melissa) Rhinesmith, Michael Rhinesmith, Noah, Grace, Jehu and Jedidiah Scheel, Graham and Gabriel Scheel and Nathaniel Scheel. Forty-six great-grandchildren and two on the way also survive.

He was the fond brother to Norma (the late Lester) Frantom of Illinos, Joyce (the late Art) Prior of Illinois and Wayne (Patricia) Scheel of Greenwood. He is also remembered as a brother-in-law to Delmar (Arlene) Trevorrow, Lonnie (Connie) Trevorrow, Donna Trevorrow, Dodie Trevorrow, Mavis Scheel, Audrey Scheel, Luella Scheel, and Dennis Colby. Many other relatives and friends also survive. In addition to his wife of 54 years Joann and his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Bud Scheel, Ralph (Dorothy) Scheel, Beth (Joe) Boyette, Arthur Scheel, Gary Scheel and Naomi Colby.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 2:00PM until the time of the 5:00PM funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. Burial will be held on Sunday, October 27th at 11:00AM at Loyal City Cemetery in Loyal, WI. Please meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated.
