William "Bill" E. Koehn, Sr.

William E. “Bill” Koehn Sr., of the Town of Delafield, died on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 88. He was born on October 13, 1936, in Antigo, WI, the son of Earl and Ida (nee Yancy) Koehn. On October 19, 1957, he married the love of his life Anita (nee Brandt) at St. Charles Catholic Church in Hartland. Bill dedicated many years of his career to Caterpillar until the company relocated to Peoria, IL. Following his work with Caterpillar, he established his own business, Bill’s Home Repair Service, where he assisted clients with remodeling and updating both residential and office properties. 

He had been a volunteer EMT and Deputy Fire Chief for the Town of Delafield. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, archery, trips up north and music, especially playing the harmonica. Bill was an avid Packers and Brewers fan and loved woodworking, he even built the house he and Anita have lived in for almost 50 years. His greatest love of all was his family. He was a devoted husband and father and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 67 years, Anita, along with their children William Koehn, Jr., Glenn (Pam) Koehn and Christine (John) Wirth. Beloved grandfather of Heather, Dana and Ryan Koehn, James (Abbi) Garavet, Brandon (Angela) Garavet, Robert and Clare Dicks and Sarah Koehn and great-grandfather of Bradley, Mason, Hailey, Penny, Madeline, Sydney and Lucy Garavet and Elodie Dicks. He is further survived by his sister Mary Ambelang, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Earl and Ida, he was preceded in death by his sisters Dorie Peot, Patricia Lombardi and Phyllis Link. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17 from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, S38 W31602 Wern Way, Waukesha, WI 53189. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Memorials in Bill’s name are appreciated to St. Paul’s Catholic Church (address above).
