William J. “Bill” Condon, of Waukesha, died on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Avalon Square at the age of 89. He was born on October 11, 1934, in Waukesha, the son of Harold and Mary (nee Barrett) Condon. He was a 1952 graduate of Waukesha High School. On May 5, 1956 he married Carmella (nee Lombardi) Condon at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Bill began working at the age of 12 on area farms picking radishes, and the age of 15 he worked at a local foundry to purchase his first vehicle and many years following he worked at Roundy’s Distribution Center, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #1825. Bill had many interests, but the game of golf was his passion. He enjoyed playing the beautiful courses of Waukesha County and competing in leagues. He was nicknamed by his friends “The Waukesha Historian” for his extensive knowledge of the people and places of the Waukesha area.
He will be sadly missed by his sons Mark (Kelley) Condon and John (Lisa) Condon both of Golden, CO. Dear grandfather of Megan, Robert, Barrett and Braelyn. He is further survived by his sister Marian (Tom) Atkinson of Jefferson, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Carmella on July 4, 2019, brother Thomas and sister Carol.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 at St.Joseph Catholic Church 822 N. East Ave. Waukesha from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass.. Interment St Joseph Cemetery. Memorials in Bill’s name are appreciated to Catholic Memorial High School, 601 E. College Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186.
