William “Bill” Andrew Schwerin, of Waukesha, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 71. He was born on February 24, 1941 in Waukesha, the son of Herbert and Margaret (nee Schneider) Schwerin. Bill graduated from Waukesha High School in 1959 and started his career as a Journeyman Machinist. Bill worked for 30 years at Cleaver Brooks and Industrial Combustion, working his way up from the factory floor to Vice President of Research and Development. Bill was a proud Mason for 50 years.
He is loved and will be greatly missed by his devoted wife of 37 years, Gayle (nee Brickson) Schwerin of Waukesha, his children: Rev. Dan (Debbie) Schwerin of Greendale, Dr. & Cmdr. in the United States Navy Reserves, Michael (Alicia) Schwerin of Bloomington, IL and Jennifer Schwerin of Brooklyn, NY, his step-children: Jamie (Dan) Herda and Jeffrey Schwenn and his grandchildren: Rachel Schwerin Pelcastre (Alberto Pelcastre Arias) and Andrew Schwerin; Riley, Braeden and Tate Schwerin; Brickson and Abigayle Schwenn; Holly Herda and Declan Cunningham. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Karen Schwerin of Wausau and his brother-in-law Al Kubsch of Minong along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Don Schwerin and his sister Carol Kubsch.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with a memorial service immediately following at 2 p.m. all held at First United Methodist Church of Waukesha, 121 Wisconsin Avenue, Waukesha.
