Pewaukee – Lifelong Waukesha County resident, Wilma Rae Sievert, 88, died Sunday, August 18, 2024, at her home in Pewaukee.
She was born in the town of Waukesha on December 4, 1935, to William and Olive Payne. Wilma graduated from high school at the top of her class. She began her career in 1953 as a typist at Waukesha Motor Works. She later passed the State Board exam to become a licensed beautician. Styling hair for the ladies of Waukesha was something that brought her great joy, and she talked about it often.
On January 2, 1957, she married LaVerne “Toby” Sievert in Woodstock, IL. They began their family in 1959, at which point Wilma left her career as a beautician to become a full-time Mom to five sons; Scott, Joseph (who passed at birth), Randy, Marty and Andy. Her family meant everything to her, and she always put their needs and well-being before all else.
Wilma was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Toby; her infant son Joseph; her parents William and Olive Payne; her seven sisters, twins Louise and Lorraine, Helen, Olive, Harriet, Jeanette, and Alice; and her brother, Donald.
She is survived by sons; Scott, Randy (long-time companion, Teresa), Marty and Andy (Charlie); grandchildren, Michelle (Brad) Young, Holly, Marcus, and Lauren; and her great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Ethan.
A private service will be held at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home and Wilma will be laid to rest at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha.
