Yacinto Barreto, of Waukesha, died Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Seasons Hospice at the age of 90 years. He was born on August 17, 1924, in Houston, TX, the son of Peter and Fortunata (nee Aguirre) Barreto. He graduated from High School in Waukegan, IL. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps. Following his military service he attended music school in Chicago. On June 30, 1947 he married Guadalupe (nee Garcia) Barreto in Waukegan. He played the piano and drums with many bands throughout his life and was a member of the Musician’s Union in Waukesha. For many years he worked as a clerk at the Waukesha Post Office.
He will be sadly missed by his children Michelle “Jackie” Barreto of Waukesha and Rafaela “Lita” Barreto of Waukesha. Dear grandfather of Molly Barreto, Peter Ross Barreto, Rozanna Vega, Jesse Vega, Joseph Vega, Veronica Vega and Myles Barreto. Proud great-grandfather of Marshal Vega, Melanie Hansen, Marcus Hansen, Lauren Barreto and Ezra Huskisson. He is further survived by his daughter-in-law Mary Barreto of Kenosha, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Guadalupe Barreto, his son Peter Barreto and his sister Marie Garcia.
